What You Need to Know About Playing Roulette

Even if the objective of Roulette is to pick the winning number or a combination of them on the Roulette wheel, it isn’t as easy as it seems.

Speaking of easy or difficult, the American wheel used in Roulette gives players a higher house edge since it has 38 numbers (as opposed to 37 on the European wheel) with the addition of the “double zero”.

When playing the game, you’ll have to get particular roulette chips which are often specific to a certain table. Each player gets a specific colored chip so as to avoid disputes.

Now the game of roulette and its layouts have two betting areas – inside and outside. According to the rules, if there’s a minimum bet (and there usually is), you’ll have to bet equally for both.

For example, if the minimum bet is $5, you have to spend $5 on both areas instead of $2 and $3 on either area as a whole.

Which brings us to game play – the dealer has to keep the wheel moving even after spins (of the ball), which is usually in the opposite direction of the wheel. In fact, it is this way of throwing the ball that cause it to jump and spin.

Once it has stopped on a particular number, the dealer will place a marker on the winning number. Make sure you wait for his or her to remove the marker so as to bet on the next spin.

With that said, the dealer allows you to place bets after he spins the ball. However, once it begins to slow down, he will stop people from placing their bets.

Even if some people claim that they know how to win at roulette, nothing that you do will change the house edge.
