A Simple Introduction to Blackjack

If you like gambling, you’ll love blackjack. It’s one of the easiest games a casino offers, but can also be one of the most rewarding. If you’re not familiar with Blackjack, keep reading for an easy explanation.

The game of blackjack is also known as “21.”That’s because the goal for you is to get your cards as close to 21, as possible. You start with two cards, as does the dealer, and you go first. If you’d like another card, you “hit.” Continue doing so until you’re as close to 21 as you think you can get. If you go over 21, however, you “bust” which means you lose.

Once you get as close as you can get, you “stay”, meaning you no longer get anymore cards. Now it’s the dealer’s turn. The entire time, you’ve only known one of the cards the dealer has. When it’s their turn, they’ll turn the other one over. If the dealer gets to 17 or above, they have to “stay” themselves. Whoever is closer to 21 at this point, wins. If you both have the same amount, it’s a push.

The game gets its name because two cards worth of 21 is known as Blackjack. This only happens immediately after the deal. So if you have a face card or a ten and an ace, which can be a one or an eleven, you automatically have blackjack. Your reward will be your wager and a half. Obviously, this is ideal.
